Need help identifying this wood

I live in East Texas, I think it maybe pin oak but not sure.
Any help is appreciated.

I have family down there and have heard the stories. My uncle uses fake snakes to scare the rabbits away, some kind of stuff to try and keep the snakes away, something else to keep the armadillo away and ultimately, still ends up with snakes climbing all the way up 3 stories of stucco, armadillo under the fences and hogs squeezing under the holes the armadillo and rabbit make.

Looking forward to some -40f nights. Takes a lot of that stuff out. Haha. All environments have, to me, very fascinating issues, for a while. Can't really tell much about the tree other than it looks good and dead, very dead. "I'm not from around here".

I was cutting brush the other day with a chain saw,
Turned around and 50 yards away a hog was rooting around
like he owned the place.11:00am, chainsaw running, and he could
Care less.
He decided to move on when the .223s started flying.

I doubt that's a Pin Oak. Will probably not be able to tell from it split open save for maybe some of Oak.

Its going to be difficult at best to say for sure what it is.. but its dead and looks dry.. so no matter what cut it, split it and burn it.. free wood it the best wood.. no matter the BTUs..
