Need help identifying this wood

I live in East Texas, I think it maybe pin oak but not sure.

I can't tell Jack from those pics of a giant dead tree.
 
Yeah I will, as soon as I run the hogs and snakes out.

I have family down there and have heard the stories. My uncle uses fake snakes to scare the rabbits away, some kind of stuff to try and keep the snakes away, something else to keep the armadillo away and ultimately, still ends up with snakes climbing all the way up 3 stories of stucco, armadillo under the fences and hogs squeezing under the holes the armadillo and rabbit make.

Looking forward to some -40f nights. Takes a lot of that stuff out. Haha. All environments have, to me, very fascinating issues, for a while. Can't really tell much about the tree other than it looks good and dead, very dead. "I'm not from around here".

I was cutting brush the other day with a chain saw,
Turned around and 50 yards away a hog was rooting around
like he owned the place.11:00am, chainsaw running, and he could
Care less.
He decided to move on when the .223s started flying.
