Chowed the sprocket today on this old saw I inherited and need to replace it. Prefer to buy a new one vs. used and wondering if anyone knows where I could find one, either OEM or aftermarket. I've been searching the web but haven't had much luck. Thanks for any help fellas.

Have you tried this site (broken link removed to http://www.oregonproducts.com/pro/lookups/selguide.aspx?BusId=OCS&SellReg=USA&LangId=ENG)

Yeah came across the Oregon site in my searches and punched in the data but got no results for my model.

Check the Oregon site above. Input McC 605. Oregon spur 32786X comes up.

There's a guy with some Mac 610 parts for sale on AS right now, the sprocket may fit your saw.

If you can find the drum with the rim sprocket you will be further ahead. I switch every thing over to rim drives as you only have to buy a rim @ $5 instead of the spur @ $25. It may cost you $30 the first time but you start saving after that. I know Oregon makes the rim setup for that saw check your local dealer and see if they can order one.

Yeah the rim sprocket setup sounds like the better way to go, thanks. I assume it's always a good idea to change the bearing too when changing the sprocket?

I will change the bearing when it needs it which is not very often. The bearing only spins when the saw is at an idle. I do lube it quite often though. My MS440 is o it's second bearing since I have had it, 12 years and I have put too many sprockets on it too count.

Ok thanks, what type/brand of lube do you use on the bearing?

Just an FYI for anyone with the same saw needing the sprocket replaced the Oregon Power Mate # for the rim sprocket drum is 68209X and the rim sprocket # is SR7-68210. I'm back in business!
