I am renting a house with a pellet stove and not sure if I'm doing it right! It's burning and warming the place, but the flame stays down in the little bowl so I can't hardly see it! Suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. That may be normal depending on the heating demand. Try turning up the thermostat for an hour.

Also, tell us what stove you have so that others may assist you on the particular model.

Welcome to the site.
Jackman pretty much sums up the answer to your question.

right.. your feed rate and temp setting will govern the flame and output.
but need to know the stove..
