Hi,
We’ve had our Neo 1.6 for three days, the first two days we did the recommended medium size fire with the doors and windows open. Boy did it crank out some smell! So far today the smell has been minimal.
The baffle in our last fire was warped terribly and my lack of knowledge (and likely over stacking it) undoubtedly played a role in that. I want to do my best to look after the new one.
I have a few questions, first about avoiding the glass getting all manked up. The instruction booklet says that if the glass is getting dirty we need more air coming in as we get the fire started. As far as I can tell that means that for us we need to keep the door open until the fire is well established, because just having the lever all the way to the left doesn’t stop the waterfall smoke effect. Does that sound right?
I think the next problem I’ve had with the door is the flames sometimes head straight to the glass. I realised this morning that this may be because of my wood placement? (Pic included below).
Last question, does the burn : secondary burn look ok? It was almost a little frightening seeing the flames come out of the baffle straight towards me!
