Where do you guys measure temp on your insert I have the 2200 and I don't know best place to measure. I try and shoot right under the top where air comes out. I have never been over 500. Is this wrong place to measure the heat of my insert?
I have the older 2400 and so far it seems to be happy at 350-400 after getting the secondary burn going. I put mine in the same location since it is the hottest. I think once or twice it got up to 500 with one of those Rutland thermometers.
I think of it like a Tachometer, you don't need it, but I like to know if my engines in the red.. It helps me set a baseline so that I will notice if it something changes.
