After a whole lot of research I purchased a Pacific Energy Alderlea T5 insert. It wasn't my first choice but it fit in my fireplace and didn't have a catalyst. There wasn't too much out there as far as reviews of this stove so I figured I'd start a page. I have a before and after photo of the stove which was installed this afternoon. I wound up being almost 100 degrees out so I haven't actually tried out the stove yet, however i'll keep posting as I learn how to use it. Let me know if you have any questions, or if you already own this stove please share some tips, pictures.

Congratulations. It's going to be a lot warmer this winter in that room. The most important place to start with a modern stove is dry, fully seasoned wood. That will make all the difference.

You made a good choice. There are several threads on the Alderlea T5. You'll have to search a bit to locate them. The firebox is the same as the PE Super 27 and Spectrum.

Although it may not have been your first choice, I think you will and should be very pleased that you ended up with a stove that has a general consensus of being very easy to operate, efficient and definitely well built. I have the free standing version of this stove and love it. I also purchased mine with not much feedback or knowing a ton about it beforehand because it was prior to being on this forum.
