I don't know which I drool over more the size that barn will be or the wood... Of course if you leave the barn as is the wood will dry faster in the sun/wind :)

hmmm, one of those new fangled crystal/glass barns I see. must play havoc with the birds. I think the wood will dry if you leave the doors open and let some air circulate a bit. looks a lil stuff in there right now.

LOL. I thought you guys would get a kick out of that.

In reality… I had moved all 65 pallets FROM the spot where the barn is, more or less. My dad stood around out there for hours spotting my dunnage for the pallets all over the side of the driveway. It was a 5 minute round trip per pallet.

So, now that the earth work is done.. all will go out there to the right. Well, other than this year's burn going inside AFTER it's all built. Hopefully next month. I didn't want to make my dad stand around now (it's a lot colder) to spot me on the skids. I shuttled em all back in a few hours listening to the stereo in the tractor. They fit 7 wide. There's a bit over 9 rows of them in the footprint of the barn. Now he can just stand there and I can scoot back and forth out the side door.

WTH? I want that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you say jealous???????????????

Now you just need a stove big enough to drop the wood in like that. Should make for a 2 month burn time - give or take.

To be honest who cares if it will dry. You are going to post pictures of the barn inside and out correct? We NEED to see those pictures, I'm sure the wood will be fine!

Will do. I've never heard any man EVER say his garage was too big. I went with 36x72.

Gonna be 16 tall. Front and back doors are 12x14s. The little side one is 10x10.

I decided I never wanted to move another thing to get to a thing I wanted to use. :)

Are you going to heat that with wood :)
Looks great!

We store some wood like that. We put them 2 high though - might be a consideration if you want to take up less area, but you might need to mod your pallets a bit.

Wood on pallets is the cats *you know*. ::-)

Garage cant be to big. I built a 34 x 40 a few years ago and I'm ready to add on. lol

That will be awesome. Post pics!

No heat. At least not for now. I got a two bay with radiant at the house. I plan to do overhead propane fired radiant for task heating only when I need to melt something that won't fit in the 30x40 that's attached to the home. But that is WAY down the budget list, AFTER a two post lift.

I had planned to run one row of wood along the length of the building. Then put pallet racking OVER the top of the wood. It's good for a few thousand pounds and has 10' spans. Figured that would be where I would store off season implements for the tractor. Not stuff I'll use frequently. As of now, zero turn, golf cart, mercedes, and tractor are the only full time residents assigned to the space.
