Anyone with the new ph having trouble opening the ash pan door. I feel really silly asking this but I cannot get it to open.

Yup. It gives me trouble, too. You have to lift up and then pull down. You'll feel it release on the lift up, then pull down. I also have trouble closing it (ain't I symmetrical 
) You have to lift up and then push down to "lock" it.
