Here are some pics. I think they should have done a better job bending the sheet metal wings to more closely match the original heat shield.

With the stove so close to the wall it was a little tight. There were a couple bolts that needed small fingers to install behind the air control indicator.

I applied the stove cement to the new air control then put it into position with my wife's help so I didn't smear it everywhere.

The heat shield shares bolts with the new air control so don't tighten those down but do place them in the holes while tightening other bolts to make sure everything is aligned and no holes are partially blocked.

My slide mechanism was really sticky when the bolts were really cranked down, after loosening and doing some filing it slides smoothly.
Good tips here. What did you have to file to get it to slide smoothly?
It's probably just the picture throwing me off but it looks like you barely have 7" clearance from the rear heat shield to the wall.

There are two parts that kind of create a track for a tab on the slide plate to move. I just filed the parts of that track that rub a little bit and backed the bolts off like 1/16 of a turn.

The clearance met minimums with the old heat shield and I think this one may stick out a little more. I haven't measured it with the new heat shield but I'm not concerned. Behind the stove doesn't get very warm.

It is fun to see how much air the stove is sucking with the new inlet accessible.
