Welcome to the forum. Issues with thermocouple? kappel15 is the Quadrafire expert on the forum so if he chimes in with advice, listen! Try searching the forum for better info on the thermocouple... always unplug when working inside the stove!

Make sure to clean entire exhaust path. From firebox to end of exhaust pipe. Pay special attention to all the holes in the firepot, making sure they are all open. Especially the small ones. 4 front and 4 back on angle . Have you tried closing the fuel adjusting rod more? Are you using different fuel that would need this done ? Poor quality fuel can cause this, or not dumping pot soon enough. Have you messed with the dial on the control box at all? Yours should be set on 1. kap

Had this problem once. Inside the small door, above the ash pan, is where the ash goes from the fire pot to the ash pan. There's a small hair pin in there that broke for me and wouldn't let both doors close completely. Fire pot door would but not the other one.
Might be worth taking a look.
