Beginning to think my wood wont have a chance to dry this summer it just keeps raining in Indiana.

Yeah. I haven't split and tested but it doesn't seem like even the Silver Maple is drying very fast. Not too big a deal for me, but it might mess with my plans a little....

I've started to think that this is due more to saturated ground as opposed to humid air moving into the area. Last summer in the heat of the day, with the dry ground, I saw humidity levels as low as 20%....unheard-of here. I guess if it was dry here, humid air could move in from other areas if the ground was wetter there....

The four splits I've been tracking weigh about the same now as they did 2 weeks ago, despite several days of 90+ temperatures. But then, they're sitting out in the open and getting rained on a lot. If they'd been under cover I think they would've lost at least a little moisture despite the humidity. Whenever it rains more than a light sprinkling they always pick up enough moisture to jump a few percentage points of MC, and then it takes 2 or 3 days of dry, sunny weather to get back to where they were before the rain. The (absurd) long-term forecast predicts rain on 22 of the next 30 days, so it doesn't look good.
I'll be top-covering my entire stack this weekend...I should be totally restocked on my main hoard by then (27 cord). The rest I'll be starting a stack on the right-of-way next to my property......
I know, that with the humidity where it's been, that top-covering will only do so much in regards to helping the wood season. But I'm banking on the fact that because the rubber roofing I use for top covering is black, it will heat up with the sun, heating the stacks up and hopefully pushing soe of the internal moisture out...

I think we'll see a lot of fungi on the stacks this year. Some of my cherry that's been
stacked for 2 months has got the white fungi growth already

I looked at the pile of wood that has been laying there waiting for someone to stack it and all looks just fine. No doubt those bottom splits are wet and we'll probably find a little mold when we get to it but that's okay. Once we get it stacked it will be fine. Besides, it will be several years before we need that wood.

We've been having a lot of rain here in Virginia, and some VERY humid days. I don't cover my wood, and this is the first summer that I have been thinking that I really should. I got some old metal roofing sections to put on since apparently the rain isn't going to let up. At least everything in the garden is growing nicely....

Good wood drying weather here the past month.
Today: Sunny , slight breeze, got to 80 , 42% humidity.

My stuff in the wood shed is growing mushrooms it has been so wet and humid here. Since I had ridge vents put in with the new roof I put the solar gable fan in the woodshed yesterday. When da sun shines da wind blows in the shed.

So much rain and mold here in PA. I got sick with a sinus infection yesterday-in JULY! If I get them it's more like December-January but not this time of year but there are many people sick right now as this weather has been highly unusual, with not much relief in sight! 
Just too much mold it overwhelms the respiratory system....

Constant moisture is causing some havoc here in central NJ. Basement is moist as all heck, back yard is so soggy I can't even mow. I'm ready for nice cool fall weather.

Especially the weeds in my case!
It is so wet I couldn't get the tiller in the garden yesterday. I nearly got the mower stuck a couple times, then right after I was done it rained again. On the plus side the pastures are as lush with grass as I have ever seen them. The cattle can't keep up.

Forgot to mention that as of this past Wednesday, my mom in Cleveland told me that their 16 consecutive rainy days had beaten the 1927 record.

Here in western NC we've gotten over 50" of rain so far this year, and that amount is what we normally get in a full year! I've got 8 cords of my wood under cover, but ended up with a cord and a half of extra wood this year that is stacked at the end of my covered stacks. I have a sheet of plywood covered with a plastic tarp sitting on that stack that I lift off when we have a sunny day and then put back on at night when they call for more rain. That excess wood stack is mostly pine and already fairly dry dead standing oak that I am hoping to burn first when the cold weather arrives. I thought I'd check the moisture and if it's down near 20% I plan to mix it in with some four year old oak that's really dry. If I hadn't covered that stack there is no way it could dry out with all the rain we've been getting.
