Who else has their cleanout tee inside their home? I assume most people with a vertical run have this setup. Do you remove the cap when cleaning or just suck out the ash with your ashvac? Any issues or problems having your cleanout inside the house?

None here, mine is right behind my stove where the stove pipe comes out and tee's off for the vertical run, the cleanout cap is on the bottom of the tee.I usually pull the cap before I start the new winter season and dump it out, it's usually half full of ash from burning all winter long. It's really handy for looking up your stove pipe when it's off so you can monitor your buildup inside your pipe going up .

No major issues here.
Have a Enviro M-55C FS with vertical pipe straight up thru roof.

Makes it easy to clean the vent and most of the exhaust path from the exhaust blower to the vent.
Remove cap, place shop vac suction at bottom of vent and run the vent brush all the way up for clean outs.

Only issue I have is getting my large body behind the stove to get to it. LOL

Mine is also in the house . take it off once a year empty
and clean . It also makes it a breeze to brush pipes .

mine is outside and it's EZPZ as long as the wind isn't blowing towards me....[learned the hard way 1st time]..

What's that red thing hanging there at the bottom of the pipe?
it's a combination leaf blower/vaccum from home depot.. remove the "T" cap then it
sucks the ash residue out of my pictured exhaust pipe....

I have 3" T cleanout inside and 8" cleanout outside. I brush the pipe going thru wall and chimney with 8" brush and rods. I have 3" brush kit for inside to use this spring. I want to try the leaf blower too. I have cleaned my chimney once and it really did not need it. Some ash in pipe in wall section

actually, i go thru the inside and push any ash or residue outwards thru the exhaust tunnel with a 3" brush.
this way when i hook up the leaf blower, all or any crud is only a foot or so away from the suction..>>>>

Something tells me that I probably shouldn't try the leaf-blower on my inside cleanout T. . . . ;lol
