Shed roofed and ready

Found some galvinized and hurricane ties on CL, and roofed my old trellis. Holds 2 cords + the 4 wheeler. (I have some stacked behind under roof also). need to replace that end 2x4 - twisting like chubby checker.

Mostly Mulberry, locust, sass, and oak. Long splits and oak probably not as dry as i thought, but dryest I have. Looks like another "Chim chim chireee" winter...
Should have just enough galv left to drop some posts in back and wall it up next year.



Short stack under galvinized is ready to go, everything else is fresh oak waiting for 2019/20.

The splits would get more air if you stacked them the other way.

Need one of those sheds. One day...one day.... But your shed looks good, full of wood. Do you use the ATV to haul the wood up to the house then?

yeah! Looks good...it will do the job. And for future reference I have to agree with Hog, the splits stacked the other way may get more air flow.

Some of us do but it is not necessary. This year we'll burn wood we cut in the 2008-2009 winter but we've burned wood that had been stacked way longer than that. One thing you don't get by doing it this way is creosote! That is a blessing.

Yep, or a wagon the boys drag. House is fairly close, use the atv and cart or s10 to get wood out of the woods, off the road and nearby powerline.

I have almost 3 years of oak stashed in the woods cut before these yard stacks, and 2 years of locust/pine/sass/etc. to clear off the road I'll probably burn first.( That'll dry in 12 mo.- 2 years easy)

I also need a wood fence for the boys to learn how to mow the yard. Behind that stack is STEEP drop - I almost rolled riding mower over there once.

LOL, Interesting... a stack of firewood as a Guardrail for the riding mower. Clever.

Just make sure you stack so it won't fall down the hill.
