Size of Air Hole in the Dog Box

Greetings, been building fires in daughters newly installed smallish Smartstove (50TRSSWO1)

RE: Dog Box, what is the size of the air hole required in the Dog Box or Doghouse? The holeisin this unit is 1/8" or slightly larger, can any of you advise ?

It's whatever was designed by Englander and tested with. Why the question? Is it burning ok?
