I was just reading about the sooteater and wondering, I have a PE Summit insert, can I just remove the baffle inside the insert and go straight up the liner to clean it without having to move the insert out

Should work. Lots of folks have given good reviews on the soot eater so it sounds good.

Have used the SootEater for almost 5 years. it works great from the bottom up and through my Oslo.
Even better, never have to be on the roof to clean the chimney! Makes midwinter cleaning real easy.

I guess I am the only naysayer on the sooteater. Bought the thing and used it in the liners. The rods flapping going up beating the crap out of the liner disturbed me. And looking down from the top later I saw a major dent knocked in one liner. Went back to just dropping the rope and pulling the brush into the the stoves.

Maybe I just didn't do it right but I would only use the thing in rigid pipe if I ever took it off the shelf in the garage again.

I have a 30 foot high liner, will it work that high up?

You will have to buy the extension or maybe 2. Sometimes on Amazon you can buy 2 complete sooteaters for less than you can buy 1 and an extension.
