The good news - temps are finally close to historic averages - yeah! So the pellet stove is still working but without any strain. The bad news - it's not the only thing that will be fired up today. Woke up to a Winter Storm Advisory and at least 3" of the wet white stuff in the drive. Kubota blower and I will be put to work again...

I haven't bought my tractor yet and if I did I wasn't planning on the blower attachment till next winter . Possible snow coming in here tues-weds, we shall see. But if it does I will be behind the walk behind. I have pellets though!! Funny, winter drags on, one day 50, another 32, then you wake up to 12 and by the end of the day its 39. We have flowers, birds and now maybe snow. All the winters snow is gone otherwise. If we get this it won't be around very long.

This time of year I would let it melt depending on how much and how warm the up coming days are going to be. But expecting more in the beginning of next week. We will see

With the sun at it's present angle snow won't stick around too long! Shouldn't need to shovel or get out the blower here!

Woke up to the second morning that was above freezing for the year By 9 $#@! hit the fan and winds cranking up with snow flurries and then by noon temps down to 25F and winds gusting to 45. Got the Bixby tore down and cleaned before needing to crank up. Fired the Elena at 4 as the winds were sucking out the heat.

Got the driveway and road done. As I was coming into the house, the snow that was formerly melting and dripping was starting to freeze up. The low tonight is supposed to be -4F; tomorrow -8F

Below zero in F tonight and tomorrow night also. It snowed here all day too. We still have a good 3 feet on the ground but it's only March. If we still have that much in a month then I'll really be whining!!

Ok look, it's spring now so no dismal reports are any longer accepted here. If it snows I'll just drive over it and my tenant can shovel himself out ! But hey, back on Okanagan DF for the last week so I'm not even cleaning my stove this Saturday/today. I have a 1/4 of a pan of ash if that. Well, I might brush the heat exchanger real quick. There is no snow in my yard or around town except for a couple of stubborn plow bankings in parking lots. The lakes have cleared of ice and have wildlife on them. My birthday is April 9, I don't want to see anything about snow by then !! It was 25 out at daybreak this morning though. It's almost 40 now.

You just have to rub salt in the wound 13F with low of -9F; historic average low 16F. If I hadn't cleaned up the snow, our little cars would never make it out the driveway and the 1/2 ton is to expensive to commute with... It's not surprising we still have snow, just sick of seeing it

Hubby is just as bad ... he's in Columbia, MO and temp yesterday was 75F. Asked if he had to come home

Temps are about 20 degrees lower than they should be but at least it is above zero

I have some stubborn plow banks too, they have been here since late Oct. early November. Heading back down to -15 C and -20 C Sunday night. The last pic is where I need to be, not loading the stove with more pellets.

Reporting from the central Sierra Nevadas: spring is upon us if you gauge it by floral behavior and actual weather conditions. I'm trying to make the best of it while I can before the landscape turns brown for what I imagine will be an extended summer (and the Rim Fire zone is still off limits until around November, so no playing out there). The particular watershed that feeds us is very low and doesn't have a ton of capacity, so we're looking at water restrictions.

Hi all,
Winter is hanging on in Minnesota big time. I've had my PC45 going for a little over a week now and my Propane furnace has not kicked in. I'm sure my old farmhouse is more than this stove can handle in the depths of winter but I have plans in the works for another stove of some sort. My first post here, I'm trying to learn all I can by reading through old threads. Lots of info.

We have had some lovely weather these past few days.
Weather was warm today, and in the low 60's

Buuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttttttttttttttt, the rains are coming back with below normal temps as well

We have run the smaller Kubota 4x4's here at the ranch for yeeeeeeeeeears and had great luck.

This past fall our oldest 4x4 took the big plunge and died big time.

I shopped around and looked at Kubota, John Deere and a few brands I had not seen before, and finally selected a Mahindra 22 HP Hydrastatic 4x4.

Absolutely a sweeeeeeeeeeeet ride.
Power steering, Hydrastatic drive, Front end loader.

Best little 4x4 I have owned.

This unit will handle a blower, scraper, bucket, back hoe, and a buttload of other tools.

The Mahindra comes in 22,25 and 28 horse in the small units

The 22 and 25 hp have Mitsubishi engines .


Might be something worth looking at for ya.
