Throwing this out there. I'm a bit challenged with placement of things so the space flows well.

Buying an Progress Hybrid and trying to decide where to place it. A hearth will be built in either place. The plywood wall in the photos, looking back towards the "new" front door will be gone in the end. Wondering if placing between two 4x5 windows will be a problem down the road. Windows are facing South.

Any thoughts that I should entertain are welcome.

Looks like the pics didn't make it.

Oooops......Thanks Be Green. A mix if operator error and slow-ish internet.
The cardboard is a hearth footprint (4 ft. x 5ft.) with the towel being the stove.

The more centrally located you can make the stove the more chimney will be inside the home envelope. That will keep flue gases warmer which helps draft and keeps creosote down. Would there be any plans for curtains going on the windows? That could be another caveat.

Just out of curiosity how big will the room be once you tear down the plywood wall?

If it is a big room maybe have it in the middle of the room as an Idea central location like begreen mentioned.

Here is an example.

huntingdog, where's the flue on that stove?

Yea I saw that so just imagine the flue going up.

Once the wall goes away, there will be another 16'x 14' and will be the kitchen (which is currently the living/kitchen room)..... The South wall in the new part (the 2 big windows) is 28'. I know its not quite central. The design of the place and roof unfortunately is lending to those two places. Could possibly move it more central along the interior wall.

Central location , you will be glad you did but if the flue is an issue then you have to do what that dictates.
