Been gone for a bit since I retired and sold my home. Will be closing on a 1200sqft cabin in North Central Arkansas next month. House appears to be well insulated and has an old Ashley style stove in it now. I'm definitely pulling that out but was looking for recommendations for a replacement. Previous house had a BK princess and I loved it but it would be overkill for this place. Any thoughts on the Ashford 20? I'm pretty much open to anything but I'm sure the wife would love an enamel decorative style.

Wife noticed an Enamel Blaze King stove, not sure of the model, in the showroom and commented on nice it looked compared to our Princess. It was $1000 more than the Princess. For a $1000 difference I like the Princess!

Ashford is good. There is not difference in heat output just burn time between the 20 and 30. Look at the Pacific energy T4 or T5 or Woodstock Progess hybrid or fire view

BK Princess, Ashford 20 or 30, or the Fireview would be ok. The PE T4 or T5 would also work. I think the Progress Hybrid is too much stove for a well insulated1200 sq ft home in a mild climate zone.

I looked at PE stoves. I really like the looks of the Vista Classic. The T4 is a nice stove as well. If we decide on black it may be an option. I'll take a look at the others as well. Thanks all

If plain black is an option, consider waiting for the Blaze King Sentry to get EPA approval. BKVP just posted in a different thread that they are hoping for it to come through in August. It's a small stove that would probably be well suited to your space and climate. It has very close clearances as well from what I read on the listing for the Canadian product.

Congrats on the cabin. For 1200 sq ft I’d probably also look at some heavier cast iron or soapstone stoves, not just BK. Something like a Hearthstone Shelburne or Pacific Energy Alderlea T5. more thermal mass, so they hold and release heat longer instead of blasting it out fast.

The Ashford 20 is still a solid choice though and definitely keeps the wife-happy decorative factor covered too.

THe more thermal mass of the stoves you mention do not equate to a longer timeframe in which the heat is released as compared to an Ashford running on low.
20 hours to release heat from a 2 cu ft load is loooong. (And that is a very even release rate due to the thermostat, and allows for reloading without relighting, i.e. no "cold" restart.)

That said, it's always good to consider the pros and cons of a number of options that may fit the bill due to different characteristics.
