The draft lever on my Fireview has always reminded me of the nice old school Farmall H throttle levers... I say add some teeth and a spring so you can always set it at the same sweet spot....

It is easy to see the comparison to not only the old Farmall Tractors but many other tractors and engines. I do not think it would be a bad idea especially after reading about that one poor fellow who had his cleaning lady bump the draft lever and his stove super heated. So having a notch to set it in might stop an accident.

ddden is also correct in that the sweet spot moves a bit from time to time. Like now we are into a bit warmer weather, rather than our setting of .75 we find more and more times setting at 1.
 
Here's the the handle with teeth set up,, of course it would have to be cast iron for the Fireview ;)
