Hello

Does anyone use a heat sensor to switch AC on like this?

A simple snap disc could also be used if you build your own.

I have used one for years. Works as advertised. It can take a bit of fiddling for proper position (placing it where you can allow stove temps to heat up before the fan turns on), but that is a one time deal.

I think Don likes toys more than normal!:) Built something a little different,a t-stat(inline) for spare freezer,to run higher temp.so I can lager beer. Also would come in handy if refrig dies in summer.

I use a PID controller. No guessing. Just set it and that's it. Plus it shows stove top temp. Costs less than 50 bucks.

Been using a Stove Stat since 1986. In 2004 the first one fell apart from the intense heat all those years. Took it back to the store and told the guy that I had bought it from his daddy and figured it should be warranty. Without missing a beat he said "No warranty on stuff you bought from a dead guy.".

Cracked me up.
