Question:

I have a potbelly stove and a oil furnace and one chimney.I want to put them both into the same chimney. Is this OK ?

Answer:

Each device needs it's own flue....the best way to do this- if the chimney is large enough- would be to drop two pipes down- one for the wood and one for the oil. Some states- including Mass- have an exception to this rule- and do allow multiple units into one chimney if certain guidelines are followed.
