I know many like to keep ash in and not clean the stove till 1st burn to combat any rust.
I am OCD about my stove so like to clean and attack in spring.

Water???

How do you possibly have water in your stove? I've had a Whitfield for 25 yrs and never seen a drop of water.

But now it's time to get a new stove and I'm look'n at Harmans. They are rated incredibly well.

Humidity

I have my OAK sealed off but the exhaust is not.
humidity may be getting in there..
also stove is next to a couple windows which are open in summer when not too hot.
may get in thru distribution vent.
