Nice load of red oak in and charring. Lit off nicely from the spruce load I posted about this am. I think we will be in the low 20s most of the night with the wind diminishing. House at 70.
Night, ya’ll.
Night, ya’ll.
Well, that didn’t work. The coal bed is 8” and growing. Just tossed in a load of pine. If that doesn’t work I’ll be going at it with a shovel.Trying Holly out to burn down coals for the evening. I cut several big holly trees down several years back. Feels like balsa wood it’s so light and dry.

I don't fire up a chainsaw without one of these on; especially the ear defendersI'm tired from wind and chainsaw noise today.
That awesome blue flame should do the trick!30 lbs of Oak for the evening load. Currently 1 outside and 71 inside. It will be well below zero tonight.
Sometimes it’s worth the minimal cost! Hopefully this doesn’t get me banned 😁Full load of ash. Heaters were kicking on again. Should have gotten up when I first woke up and loaded instead of going back to sleep...

That’s a lot of hype. Nothing we haven’t seen before. The news reports over here are saying that the US is, or is about to be, hit by a once in a decade storm. .. “threatens millions with snow, ice and brutal cold” is the phrase used.
Take care and stay safe everybody.
