I’ve been loading 3 splits of maple every 3-4 hours today. It was below zero this morning then teens this afternoon with a stiff wind that seems to be sucking the heat out of my cabin. Keeping it mid 70’s this way.

I had a little bit of time to run home today and load the stove for tonight, full box of maple and oaks. ‘Stat at 3:00. Upper teens tonight.
Running out in the am to check out a possible second stove for next season. Hopefully it comes home with me. 😎

28 outside, 69 upstairs, red oak.

Temps shot up last night to above freezing so I'm burning a bit less often. One load of spruce got us up to 70F inside, plenty warm for bedtime! I also installed a tritium vial on my flue temp gauge so I can see the temperature better in the dark from my loft. I'll try to post a picture for fun next time I login.

19 degrees with light snow. Full load of pine and aspen going. Supposed to hit upper 20's this afternoon. Once I get the inside temperature up I'll let it go cold (or mostly cold) and get a bunch of ash out. Tonight stays in the teens and tomorrow is supposed to get to low 20's, then the bottom drops out. Below 0 every night until February it looks like with a few negative teens and real feel in the negative 30's...🥶

Wow! 🥶

It’s not cold here
Yet, again, it’s not warm
2 days not needing to wear wool says á lot
Wood is practically free compared with elec which is pricey…so, where I can turn off elec means I can run it in places out of wood burning heat proximity

So, another daily cold start in the Délice

1 chestnut and holly and hazel in the bottom
Elm/ oak/hazel/poplar/hazel cross the top

29 outside, feels like 23.
No sun, windy.
Upstairs is 70 and last night's oak is done after 15 hrs. It was cold...

Now some sassafras and spruce.

A few small splits started on just a few small coals left at 4:30A. Just to get some bigger coals to get the bigger oaks in soon.
Rocky approved.

Stoves cold for a couple days as I’m out of town. When I get back later today it will be a good time to clean out some ash, wipe off the glass and do some routine cat maintenance before the big arctic blast next week.

Again, not cold here
Mid 40sF/ just under 10C
But no solar, and no precipitation

Just burning to reduce elec

The usual
1 split chestnut/ 1 split whit oak
Bone dry holly and hazel
With a short chunk of Siberian elm
Kindled with oak/hazel/apple/poplar

Gotta stay warm! Mid 40's with a little wind can be quite frosty!

35 and snowing. 72 in. Oak and maple hard at work doing their thing!

We had a sweet fire last night with a really long secondary burn. It went on for several hours. This is a little section of it. Seventeen years old and the T6 still knows how to entertain and delight.

Tonight’s load is in and charring before turning it down. Oaks maples and hickory. Oh 1 piece of spruce 😎

Mix of hickory, ash and 1 small piece of pine on top to get it nice and hot before everything turns to coals in the morning:

Getting ready for some snow tonight / tomorrow. 30 outside, 68 inside, STT 300, CAT 780 and ramping, about to crank the air down to a crack past full close.

Around 2 pm I had added two splits of sassafras on last night's 10 pm load that still had a few hours to go, but i had to leave.

Gray day here, some flurries, now black ice. Snow tomorrow.

29 F outside, 70 upstairs.

Reload of a layer of oak shorties with the coals in the front, then a few longer sassafras splits and the rest again red oak.

Cherry, white ash and a stick of hickory tonight. Currently 11 going down to 0. Tomorrow night is forecast to be -8 and Monday night -16. Friday is calling for -20, but that's too far out for me to believe the weather guessers... Won't break 20 for the foreseeable future, Monday won't get above 0.
