31/ 66 here this morning at revile. Some scraps and pallet wood and then a piece of maple to top off. That will hold us until this evening

I’ve been off on my shoulder season schedule. Loading in the am, by bedtime the house is still 70-72, fire is out but I don’t want to overheat the joint with another fire. wake up to 63. I like sleeping in the cold but the old lady and young kids I guess don’t. Time to do overnight loads to carry through to the next eve. All that being said I’m doing a small load of spruce to get me to tonight 😬

I’ve been leaving the mini splits on 66 in the bedrooms only at night if needed. For now it’s working well for me 😬

3rd fire of the year. Was 59f outside and 58F inside today.
Pine and Sassafras burning nicely as the draft is mellow with these temps.

We've burned probably 5-10 times this year, which I feel is a little later than it has been. No over nighters or anything, just typical shoulder season stuff. It's also been unseasonably dry this year so there's that too. Still burning some well seasoned White Ash and sprinkled in some miscellaneous other splits like some Oak and Hickory I randomly got off my father in law. The Oak and Hickory seasoned a little after than I expected and burned pretty well when I tried them the other night.

No cold kids tonight…. 8 splits of hard maple and red oak for the overnight + likely well into the am on this load. Will have stat set to low once it settles in.
