Whats up with these strange new gas cans ??

I haven't bought a gas can in quite a few years.
I started looking for a new 1 gal for chain saw, and started reading about these strange nozzles that don't work.
Is this the only kind of gas can they make now ???

Perfect for mixed fuel, although they are the wrong color and the feds will get all pissy if they catch you putting gas in them.

I just hate it when I accidently put gas in mine.

I know, hate these new plastic ones, have not found a good one yet. The last of my two ancient 30+ year old metal ones finally sprung a leak about a month ago. Bought them at the same time many years ago. Both finally rusted a pin hole leak about 6 months appart this year! Sad times.......

Most of them a worse than junk. You can buy cans that meet the EPA regs and aren't garbage, but they cost more. Look at Eagle and Justrite brands.

All the plastic CARB/EPA cans I've tried would be overpriced if they were free.

As far as I know, that's the new gas can. (Some California invention & rule & Fed Gov bureaucracy)

I've yet to use the new spill proof & not spill gas.
I put an old nozzle on the new one gallon can , & now little or none spilled.

Most can be modified & made to work better.
Online search can give you some ideas to make them usable.

The obligatory No-Spill Jill post.... Everybody's favorite.

Look for 'em at your local small engine dealer (every Stihl dealer has access to them! ), if he doesn't have 'em in stock, they can be ordered from Stens or Rotary (EVERY small engine guy has an account with one or both of them). Also available from Amazon. They're thicker and pour MUCH faster than any other plastic can. Only plastic can that doesn't drive me crazy and much cheaper than a metal Eagle Can. I actually enjoy using mine to fill my small handheld equipment. Plus no gas station can give you crap about filling an "unapproved" container.

Those fuel cans suck! My brother has one for his mixed gas, both me and my Dad used it at seperate times and dumped fuel all over the place! I haven't heard my Dad swear so much in a while!

Works great. All of mine are Blitz also so I don't know about others but it should work fine with them. The plastic isn't thicker in that one spot like he says. Just a flat spot.

Ill give it a try, I was going to buy the can the girl with the jugs is selling but they're expensive and this is a cheaper fix and looks like it works great.

Check out Eagle gas can's. I have (2) 5 gallon and a 1 gallon gas can...without a doubt, these will be the last gas can's I'll have to buy. You'll pay a bit more for these, but if you're like me and would rather just buy something once, its worth a few extra bucks.

I hate the unmodified Blitz cans but a couple of years ago Lowe's was clearing winter stuff out for room for the lawn mowers. They had the blue five gallon Kero cans on clearance for $2.99 each. They are the same as the gas cans except for the color. I bought all they had left and grabbed a can of red spray paint on the way to checkout.

I have some early 2000s cans that are those "awesome" ventless cans that would drain 5 gals in about an hour it seemed.

I ended up screwing in a 1/4"x 1" or so lag bolt in that area he puts the valve stem. Thread in the lag bolt, can is sealed. Take it out and it vents. Works just like the prior model cans that had the little unscrewable vent.

Have you tried that BB? Looks like the way to go, just wondering if you have to buy that specific can in the video.

Also you can get race jugs in 5 gal cans for about $25 each

Good thing you painted them...I actually witnessed a gas station clerk shut the pumps off on a person who was not using "red" gas can's....

I am all for the rules for colors of cans. In high school mom got mad at me because I didn't jump up and run out to mow the lawn. She went out and filled the mower with kero. It started and ran. Until she turned it off. Don't ask what it took to get that stuff out of it and get it running again. Or what Dad did to my butt when he got home.

Not to mention what happens when somebody pours gasoline in a kero heater and lights it in their house.

I was just cursing the new can today! The ones here in Ontario are a total joke!! When you turn the safety collar and press the spout down if there is any pressure it sprays about 3/4' onto whatever making matters far worse then ever!! And the dang things leak like crazy too......give me a good old Wedco can any day over this crap!! Shame on CT for selling this junk!
