Wanting to buy a new stove. Need more heating capacity than the PDVC puts out. It has done a great job for me, just want to trim the propain usage even more!
Would love to buy a new Harman, just can't afford one. Thought about used, but could easily end up paying as much for used as a new stove if there ends up being any undisclosed problems. I know, no one would be selling a used stove that's got issues, right? LOL
So, I am a big fan of the "do it yourself" ideology of the Englander (and of course the price). I've narrowed it down to these two stoves.
The real question I have is, which one is more efficient? I know the IP has higher Sq ft ratings, but eats more pounds per hour.
Hoping that Mike Holton might be able to shed some light? PLEASE
I believe either will do the job, but really would like to get the most efficient of the two.
According to the specs in the manuals, PAH heats 500sqft per lb, IP 425.5sqft per lb. input. I know these are estimates.
Not sure how much one can rely on the specs from the manuals, for example, the input rating of the smaller PDVC (38,000btu) is vastly greater than the input rating of the larger PDV (26,000btu). These are actual numbers that are shown on the data plates of these stoves, which are pictured in their respective manuals.
Doesn't make any sense to me, and I have visually witnessed that the plates on actual stoves setting side by side at Lowes show the same disparity?
Very confusing indeed, one model will be rated at input per hr, another output per hr. Which is easy enough to figure out, but, then, some are rated Kg/hr, another Lb/hr? Ughhh...
I think I may need a day job! LOL (I work nights)
Thanks for reading, and any input Y'all may have.
