Ten seasons ahead, most stuff is 5 to 10 yrs old in a building, all oak and hickory, not to mention the white oak blocks. Over 4 cords, two seasons burning, at least in the king.

Nice, I have those small pieces. I really don’t like them like that. Because you can’t really stack them in the stove. I think they’re good for doing the day when you want to keep the heat going.

Those pieces are the perfect stacking fuel with their straight sides.
You may have to put one stack in front of the other but stacking they do better than any split wood ...

My pieces are far from small an occasional piece gets slipped in some of those weigh 10 to 20 lbs most are over 5lbs. ,in my King parlor in bitter weather, a full load burns for 16 hours usable heat. I load on a coal bed because they are slow to start when stacked tight. They leave a small coal bed and burn to powder almost. Over one ton in here back in the day when they didn't deliver. You picked up, and they weighed you in and out.

Pretty much maxed out space wise. I could probably consolidate 2 partial stacks to make available 1 more 8ft long single stack.
Going to have to measure all the 8 and 10 ft randomly placed stacks to see what the grand total amounts to. I'll guess 6 cords but hopefully there's more than that.

Nice, I just started getting logs. It’s more easy. I don’t have to keep looking for firewood or go people house,

Ten seasons ahead has gotta be some sort of record. I have a huge amount of wood, maybe 4 years. But I’m worried not enough seasoned wood to get me through the winter. This very wet and cool summer has not helped (my wood is all outside, pretty much all oak with some hickory)

I've got about 6 cord css'd right now. Figuring 3.5 cord per season or so. Should be good with hardwoods for 27/28 but I need to get some shoulder season wood ready this fall for 27/28 after moving thisyears stash inside. My new outside storage area isn't ready yet and won't be this year... I still have tree's down all over the place from the June '24 storms and tons of dead black ash in the swamp. The down stuff is mostly off the ground.

Other than moving wood inside I just have to give the flue a quick sooteater cleaning.

I'm only slightly panicking - I maybe have a half cord ready to burn, and about another half cord that still needs seasoning time. I probably go through a cord a year at this point.

My issue is I have the wood, just need to get myself out there and get it processed. I also have some dead trees I need to harvest that should be good for '28.

I also need to get my chimney cleaned out. I am thinking I need to get that done sooner than later, want to beat the potential rush but I may have already missed the mark. I'm not sure when my sweep is the busiest.

My close-to-door woodshed has been overstuffed since I guess April or May, a few cords in there. Ash and maple cut a year ago, much of it split in ‘25 but some split early spring ‘26 from rounds or logs I didn’t get to before winter. Organized by dryness and hopefully won’t get to the most recently split stuff this winter. Also a bunch of ash cut and split and stacked in there summer ‘25. Should be enough dry wood for even an extra harsh 26-27.

I built another wood shed this summer, 7 x 16’ deck and pretty tall, no walls, clear roof. A pole building. I’ve had half of it stacked 5 or 6 feet high for a month, the other half I’m still working on, waist high. This is the green wood shed, to dry stuff for a year or more before it goes into the close-to-door shed. I’ve got a bunch of ash and maple in there but unfortunately a lot of pine is taking up room. Took down some very big white pines in early spring and also a butternut — those were all threatening the house. A lot of crummy wood taking up a lot of room, but I’m going to burn it eventually, not going to just throw it away. This shed will hold 4 or 4.5 cords if I stack it high, more than I burn in a winter (though of course the pine and butternut doesn’t count as much). I’ll get more ash in there this fall. I’ll burn a bit of pine in shoulder seasons so it will be there for a while.

I’m probably 2+ seasons ahead after I finish splitting all the oak I just got. I’m guessing im
Sitting on 10+ cords of stacked, dry wood right now and another 3+ cords of oak in logs /rounds.

Most of my dry wood is ash and maple, but I have at least 2 cords of 2+ year seasoned oak and hickory for the cold nights.
