This customer had a Horstmann wood boiler in his basement and is to the point in his life where he does not want to deal with the "wood thing" as he put it. A pellet boiler is a good fit for him and will be for many years due to automatic fill and automatic cleaning. He's thinking about adding a bulk storage bin at some point in the future but for now he's going to just use the integral hopper and fill a a couple times per week.
There were some "issues" with the system piping which Drew and Matt corrected when they did the install. About all that remained of the original zone piping after they were done was the supply and return manifolds. Everything else went away. As an example, one of the mistakes in the original piping was the use of gravity type checks on each zone that were installed vertically. They all fell open and stayed that way. So when one zone ran, they all "ran".
We had to design for the inclusion of the LP backup boiler he had someone install a couple years ago and we rigged it up to simply monitor the primary loop temperature and fire when it drops below the target temp. We set it at about 115* as the entire house is radiant slab.
