Question:
We have owned a Wonderfire Gas Insert for several years and have been happy with its performance until recently. We have just refaced our 85 yr. old brick fireplace and after reinstalling the insert the casing of the blower units melted. We bought new ones and after one use they melted again. Any idea what might be wrong? Thanks for your help. Bonnie Asien
Answer:
Not sure, but it sounds like you have a blockage of some sort in the air convection chamber that surround the insert. This would stop the cooling of the insert and cause overheating. Wonderfire was simply a renamed Vermont Castings product, so contact them at http://www.majesticproducts.com and see if their Tech department can help.
