San Francisco wood burning ban for Christmas Eve and maybe Christmas..... Any hearth.com members affected in San Francisco? I wonder if this affects modern wood stoves?

This covers all wood burning including stoves and pellet stoves unless they are the soul source of heat. It is pretty hazy there right now.

not affected by it at all. Weather.com says a low of 44 there. If i lived there and if it was under 35 degrees, i'd be burning. With an EPA stove, how can they tell you no?

Reno, NV is the same. No burn affect in place as the cold air inversion keeps the smog and dust/ smoke in the valley.

Usually only temporary until our wind kicks up or a storm rolls in, neither of which we have right now.

The emissions on diesel rigs has gotten ridiculously strict (because of idiots like the one in the video).

I drive a diesel truck, and enjoy the power from it however I also respect others and don't do stupid crap like that.

This is how we loose our tools and toys, dumb people screw it up for everyone.

An EPA stove is a cleaner burner, but there are still emissions heading up the flue. How would they know? Startups are often visible for 10-20 minutes and for sure there is a burning smell in the air. If you are burning and your neighbor is holding off the Christmas yule log you can bet someone will be calling you in.

i look for in the very near future, alot more of the burn police to have crack downs in more and more states. With a 40% increase in wood fuel used for heating in recent years someone who stands to loose money[oil and nat. gas fat cats] is taking notice and will try to curb this .

Let's keep the politics out of the thread. That is can territory.
