Wood Fiber Inc from Niagara, Wisconsin

Just wondering if anyone has tried these pellets? They apparently make both hardwoods and softwoods. The Twin Ports Testing shows the softies at 8902 BTU/lb and hardwood at 8328 BTU/lb.

Any idea of cost?

The hardwood ones are probably the worst pellets I have ever burned. Massive amounts of ash and low heat output. I would run far away from them

Thanks for the heads up ... I'm already far enough away Just wondering about what some of the other "local" pellet makers have. Lumberjacks and Indecks are also out of Wisconsin and I'm not a fan. Marth seems to be the only one that is OK...

I rate the pellets I have tried this year as follows:

1. White pine pellets by AWF
2. Marth pine pellets
3. Marth hardwood
4. Indeck pellets
5. Lumberjacks (total garbage)

Possibly the best pellet made in Wisconsin at the moment, IMO, is Dejno. They're a little hard to find, though. Distribution is spotty, even in the southern part of the state (they're based in Kenosha). My nearest retailer is 25 miles away, and I'm only about 50 miles from the plant.

Wood fibers out of niagara is actually a trucking company, its his sister company, i actually worked on the trucking side years ago, and so has many other people, the owner is a @$$hole plain and simple. The pellets are from ground up whatever wood the guy has on site, he has a massive wood chip pyle.

Their is a place out of Vulcan mi that produces a much better pellet then wood fibers.

Marth pellets are also pretty good

Not sure if these are related but I picked up a few bags there other day.. Burn ins Harman Accentra. IMO, great heat out put, and basically NO ash output at all.

Says <.25% ash, average >8600btu
Was a little bit more dust in the bag than I am used to but not the worst I've see

On average, most of the pine pellets I've seen seem to have a bit more fines but it depends on the brand...
