X5 dried out for a year you can't beat it. Especially the slower growing ones that are very dense. A heavy wood. Kevin
Thanks to all. I'd say it must be Mulberry. I nabbed it from someone that had already cut it up and was going to have it picked up.

I wouldn't have guessed it. My mind doesn't think of mulberry, even though it's growing all around us. Thanks for posting.

One key way to identify mulberry when its green and fresh whlie cutting the wood is yellowish.. when dried or seasoned its like a orangish color..
