Neversource dropped this for me last August, too close to the road and their lines. Been sitting as rounds since then, took a few whacks at it today since it's 70 out!

Not sure what it is, smells beechy...any thoughts?

hickory ?

It's definitely heavy enough and was not terrible to split with the maul. Thought the bark would be rougher for hickory. Not like shagbark but more raised.

Neversource!! Good one. ;lol

Thanks - now to get it split and stacked, sooner than later -

We started calling it Neversource back in 2017. They haven't disappointed...
