Photos can be tricky, but on this one I'll put in a strong vote for red oak. Would be surprised if it's anything but.
 
Probably oak.
 
Oak in red oak group (leaning toward red oak too).
 
Show us the end grain to confirm
 
Let me give an original suggestion: red oak.

Just bought a half cord of red oak a week ago, looks identical. Good heat source, not on par with white oak, but great regardless. Haven't smoked with it yet, but heard it gives a slightly smokier flavor than white oaks.
