Nick and js ---That wood with the bag on top looks like a fat rabbit is there---lol. Now that's your wife being overworked here---lol . Good for her and I would just be too afraid of that type of work but that overworked woman I bet is quite a helper and partner for you--bless you both...clancey

Cleaned out both stoves and the chimneys today. I'm hoping warm weather is here I had a fire this past Tuesday 40's and rain. The basement was cold so I had a small fire to get the chill out of the house. I'm rerady to start processing wood. It has been a cold rainy May here. Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial day.

I managed to get 4 pickup loads of locust this weekend. Should be just shy of 2 cords. Some friends across town are clearing out some ground, quite a few locust trees and they don’t burn wood. I have probably 2 more loads to get the rest. Hardwood of any variety is not that common around here so I’m feeling pretty fortunate to get this. A real delicacy for my Lopi next year!

I had a stack of Beech leaning back pretty good so I moved it to a different area which is easier to get wood from in the winter when we have deep snow. I did put what I call new runners underneath the face cord, the bottom row is cherry.

I had planned on some firewood related work today but with more rain in the forecast, I got behind the push mower for about three hours.

Gosh a lot of rain for you people---build a small swimming pool to hold all the water in and enjoy in the summer heat--that should take care of the extra lbs of weight...I get such bright ideas--lol.. Just think you can exercise your arms and legs in the pool and not have to do so much work--yes...clancey

About a half cord of free white oak. Had to buck the tree up and split it. I don’t have any white oak so this will be nice. I’ll be going back for more next week. Probably close to 2 cords of white oak at this persons property, plus at least another 2–3 of red oak. I’ll probably skip the red and take as much of the white ask I can .

Today I stacked a face cord of firewood leftover from two years ago. We burned a bunch of pellets that year which saved us some firewood. Most of the face cord is ash with some maple and birch.

Picture 4952 is the area I'm moving the wood from.
