Took down and cleaned up 5 pines yesterday and split & stacked the birch trunk... Nice wood. All the paper bark slid right off while splitting with zero effort.

Today I took down a big pine trunk that was snapped off in the weather incident last year and cleaned it up, then mowed the lawn, then pulled out a bunch of smaller tree's with the truck and by hand.

Wife has been onboarding in SE WI for her new job the last 3 weeks. First week I went with and did some projects for family members, but the last 2 weeks I've been baching it. She has to go down again next week again, but that's what happens when your new boss is a former supervisor who chased you to work for her and knows your capabilities and puts you in charge of the new software system and the business's accounting and they're 7 months behind... So I'll be baching it again and burning brush and cleaning up and moving log piles because nobody wants my free pine and aspen logs...🤪.

I should go fishing instead of working so dang hard.

Boy everybody is working hard without a moment to spare it seems always "something else to do". I say get it done so you won't have to worry about tomorrow.. Your pictures are just beautiful W... And N your doing too much work and thinking too hard---like me---lol lol.. Today I got a estimate on my basement steps to be alligned so that I do not hit my head on the way down..--sounds like a good idea doesn't it? Next week I am getting two more estimates and this one company will mail me the estimate so I am waiting for that as well as clearing out the basement entrance where I have stored stuff. It was a beautiful day today but so so hot...Can't wait for winter...Take care all my forum working beavers and try to be good...clancey

Now I am trying to figure out the square footage on my house and I know they subtract certain things not being used or something??? My house is 24 feet wide and 36 feet long but the original house measured 24 feet by 24 feet and that I believe on the record is 481 square feet one hundred years ago...But what would it be now? Do I multiply something to something or What??? Help all you wood people--What would the ball park be on my square footage? As you see my mind is working like our friend N "overtime"--too much thinking about things. Some people buy a small amount of gold for a little profit down the road but I am beginning to start investing a little in my home by trying to update it and the cellar steps is the first project here., and there are other projects behind but right now I am just getting estimates for work to be done and when I get them I will share them with you . So on 24 feet by 36 feet --do I multiply this--is that the right way? How do I do this to figure it out...Thanks for the help ahead of time and what do you figure-ball park....

Length x width will give you your square footage. 24x36=864 SqFt.

Thanks DH but I wasn't sure about how they figure this out--thought that"s how they figured it but was not sure in case there was something else in figuring..My late husband was a whiz in math but not me. This basement steps job I believe will be over 15,000 and that was the first estimate in ball park figuring so I will let you know about the next three that I get...That's a lot of money so I"ll see how this first project goes..In the meanwhile I had two estimates on my house and they offered me about 325,000 and the second one was about 350,000 so this was interesting figuring the house next store on the right has a pop up roof over the house---exact same house as mine--and they will sell it for about 575,000 so you see the different here and I told the real estate person that I would not accept anything less than 400,000 so go figure some more---he laughed and left quick...But to be fair they did add a back bedroom too next to a child's room.., but I added a laundry room with a shower and a back porch with my beautiful wood stove that someday I will use again but not at the moment unless I need it in a emergency or something....Thanks again appreciate...clancey
