Grabbed a load from the woods. Got it split and stacked in the shed.

Cut up and hauled out some free oak trees. 5 dump trailer loads. Saw in pic has 25" bar for size reference.

That looks like a good rig for hauling wood. Is that bed longer than 8'?

I don't think I've seen a saw that long! That must be great having property like that.

25" bar is a lot of bar but very handy when you have big tree's. My brother had a Stihl with a 30" or 32" that was an absolute monster. Great for big stuff, but boy you didn't want to run it a lot...

Sure sounds like a lot to handle, and there's some even longer. Great to own something like that though, especially if you have the land and trees.

Yesterday I finally got around to making a small path for the wheelbarrow, and shoveled the snow covering the tarp to get to wood I bought a few weeks ago. Cleared an area and the stump to split it, much of it needs to be split again. I like winter and snow, but it's been a while since we had over a foot like 2 weeks ago. A reminder I guess to get as much as you can done before a big snowfall. In my case bring wood into the garage.

The bed is 8 ft by 8 ft. Very nice for firewood.
Very handy to have a bigger saw for trees like these!

You’re ripping through wood! 5 wheelbarrows will get me a little over 2 wks burning 24/7 in the encore.
Decent size firebox lol. It probably gets me almost 10 days or so. I stuff it in the morning and evening. I’ve also been running it on an higher blower speed with more air to burn hotter than I have in the past due to temps (though the past week hasn’t been terrible). And have been burning cut offs/uglies during the day unless very cold. This keeps the house 70-75. I’ll burn probably at least 3.5 cords by the time season is done, possibly 4 depending on how cold the next month is.

This is about 24 hours worth of wood (2 packed loads), maybe an extra half load the next day.

I work on the firewood pile yesterday for about 6 hours.
Cleared snow around the pile a couple of times.
First I split everything I had cut into rounds then I started to cut more rounds before I had to call it quits.

I am a little less than half way through the pile of logs. Trying to get it done before mud season.

This way day two of moving snow, 90 bucket loads in two days. Not all the snow in the first two pictures are from the last two days.

Pole shed is full...🤣🤣🤣. Everything isn't how it will eventually be, I just wanted it all inside before the weather hits and I needed room to move in the detached garage to continue organizing and setting things up.

Photos 1 & 2 are the pole shed, 3 is the detached garage, 4 is the attached garage.

I worked on the wood pile for a few hours today.
I am about half way through the now.
Our daughter ran the log splitter for an hour or so when I was done.
I forgot to take a picture of the pile of split wood.

I just loaded up the wood box yesterday too. One cartfull is about 12 cu. ft. We go through about this in around 4 days in colder weather.
And 4 days later I am loading the wood box again.

I was planning on restocking the rack and tote but it was above freezing last night and I would have made a mess with the machine. It looks like we have some overnights in the teens next week so I will wait for those and get it done early in the day.

First mud season I've seen here on LI...
My wheelbarrow made a rut in the lawn. Still 6-8" of snow but upper 30s during the day.
Waiting for a better day to bring more wood into the garage rack.

Worked on splitting wood after cleaning up the snow we got last night.
At least half way through the pile now. I cut the logs on the ground back and scraped the mess and snow up and dumped it in the woods. Ready for more splitting after Church tomorrow.
I also need to drag the splitter closer to the pile of logs now. The pile of splits is getting too tall.

The boss lady hauled in quite a few totes of wood to replenish the inside stores while I finished clearing snow this afternoon 😁.
A couple days ago I posted about not bringing wood over because the yard was a bit sloppy. I didn’t want to tear it up with the tractor so I was going to wait until Tuesday/wed as the overnight was going to be in the teens and things would firm up nicely. As of then “the big blizzard” was also not supposed to hit us. Guess what I’ll be doing first thing tomorrow morning now? 🙃

I snow blowed my driveway, and then dug out my generator and fired it up. The news is claiming some big snow totals and heavy winds tomorrow into Monday. Also checked the oil and fueled up the blower. Probably should fill a gas can or two tomorrow, guess we’ll see how the day goes.

Once you do all that, and wait a few days, you'll be out sun tanning. It's almost spring.
