A couple days ago I posted about not bringing wood over because the yard was a bit sloppy. I didn’t want to tear it up with the tractor so I was going to wait until Tuesday/wed as the overnight was going to be in the teens and things would firm up nicely. As of then “the big blizzard” was also not supposed to hit us. Guess what I’ll be doing first thing tomorrow morning now? 🙃
I filled the garage rack today. Made some ruts with the wheelbarrow.
First time I'm seeing mud season here. Had frost so long that it's deep. Now snow was melting and it was a muddy squelchy mess.

One can only hope, I’m getting too old for this crap! lol
All we can do is enjoy it, the alternative is expensive to winter someplace warm. I'd be afraid to leave my place in the winter anyway, unless I drain the water out of all the pipes and shut it down.

We get it every year to some extent, when we had dogs it was always a big mess. We would keep an old beach towel on the porch to clean off paws and bellies.

🤦🏻‍♂️ the wood yard did not disappoint, I plan on it being millings by next season to eliminate the mess.

Another productive morning in the woods. Elm, oak and cherry.

Cleared a path to pull my trailer out this weekend for an inspection. Pictures don’t do it justice how much snow that is. Those walls are at least 4 feet high if not more . That pile on the right is over my head

This snowblower has put in some serious work this week

Reloaded the wood box. I brought out the lawn tractor and did field mowing yesterday. Normally my earliest mow date is mid-March. Between the small mower and now the big one, this is the third time since January.

It is a ham radio antenna.
We don't get any over the air TV here. We got rid of the tv in 2005.
Looks like a great HF antenna. What little TV I watch (mostly the new) is from an antenna on the 2nd floor.
Uncovered the wood pile yesterday, snowing again this morning so covered again, for now. Strange weather here lately,
went to a Fire & Ice event yesterday. The ice sculptures didn't hold up well a it was 50º for a while. Originally scheduled 3
weeks ago, but postponed due daytime temperatures 40+ degrees colder and wind.

At night the fire pit was welcome as it got colder. It was fueled from scrap construction wood. Sort of what I'm doing,
using some of a cut up pallet this morning.

My Dad is a Ham VE1IEF out of Nova Scotia. I'm still not sure how we are going to get rid of all the towers and dishes. When he got older 85 ect he stopped using all that stuff. I have expensive TV with my internet, but I use it to record golf and TCM movies. I watch utube alot.

Interesting, was wondering where the 'V' prefix is. I was N1GTX, wish I never left it expire,. Someone else grabbed it when it became available. I'm looking into other TV options to replace my 1st generation Roku which hasn't been working well.

As for the towers, if disassembled maybe they could be resold? I not, maybe get some cash from a metal recycling facility.

Going to get cold again, 5º here tonight. My son said the place we both have been getting wood from ran out of the pile used by a big bucket loader. Two loads would just about fill the 8' bed of my truck. Of course could use more seasoning. Have some of the last load left. I realize it's not ideal, but mixing in pallet wood with that makes the fire adequate.

Opps I guess I forgot my Dad's call. I did find a neat post with V's. I heard him say it a million times when I was growing up. VE1EF? VW1IF?
For the towers I guess we would need some tower linemen to take them down. I'm hoping wecan sell the whole house to a ham. He built on one of the tallest places so he could get better coverage. Getting cold again here for a couple of days. Hard to run out of dry pellets although if you don't buy a whac, you may find some stores ares old out. I watch the inventory at my Home Depot. They sell thousands of bags.

I went with Amazon Sticks. I have a bunch. They work good, and a one time cost. They go on sale too.

Those seem to be the way to go. I need to check into that.

Above freezing here now, a good time to clear around the outside wood racks. We had a storm here last week that shut down just about everything on site Monday, some schools even Tuesday. Fortunately had tarps on the wood outside.

I'm a hard working woman too wnuck---boy if your single--that's the woman for you...I go from the chair to the yard and the yard to the truck and do some shopping then I go back to my chair and watch TV.....Life is sure hard- lol lol--Enjoyed the piece and every ones posting is nice and pretty pictures too... I won't do the music thread because of the cookies--now if they could figure out away to get rid of the cookies I would entertain it again...That ham radio piece is interesting too and boy some of you really stack wood "neat"---Thanks--Bye for now...old clancey

Local place has a "PLEASE COME TAKE SOME PALLETS" pile 😁. Huge area, neatly stacked, lots of sizes. These are like 32"x80" with 1" or 1 1/8" boards. Just picked up 4 more this morning. There was a truck with a huge tri-axle trailer loading up when I pulled in. Absolutely awesome for stacking wood on.
