Merry X-mas to all, and happy holidays to others, living in the northeast we are experiencing unprecedented warm temps today.
I have had my stove lit on and off now since the middle of October, when the stove was in operation I was burning low and slow, to all that have been doing this, if you can please take advantage of the weather and run the ole brush down the chimney, a clean flu gives piece of mind.

I was planning on sweeping my chimney this weekend anyways, regardless of the temp . . . I last did it in late October . . . and since I am anal retentive and usually do it every month I am a bit tardy in doing so.

I'm the same way, I clean 3 times a year, ideally between now and the new year, then again in late February and a final cleaning after the season is over. Must be a firefighter thing to always have a clean chimney, seen way to many preventable mishaps

Well that Kenny and you darned well if you have a chimney fire you will never hear the end of it from the guys at the station . . . hell, the older guys still give me a hard time about that year when I tried to light a Christmas tree on fire on live TV and it failed to light up even though that must have been back in 1996 or so (true story.)

You guys have to much time on your hands if you clean that much lol. Nothing wrong with it but really not nessecary. But on a similar note you would not beleive the number of calls i got this week saying we need our fireplace cleaned so we can have a fire on christmas morning. Then some of them get pissed when we tell them there is no way we can get there till the end of january

don't you know you're supposed to drop everything for them? i mean come on it's for christmas morning ambiance!!
