Our Jotul has been heating lots of water for many years. By thermosyphoning (no pumps) into a hot water "pre-heat tank" that is also plumbed into some solar water heater panels. This tank is directly above the stove on the second floor. Has been working great and flawlessly. In the winter we circulate the hot water in the concrete floors. Haven't set it up for the Ashford yet but it will happen later this winter I would guess. Just need to think about the best way to do it a little more. I always thought that the Jotul heated hundreds of gallons a day in the winter which then circulated through the floors. A great use of wood heating in my opinion.

The heat is going to be concentrated in a different location due to the cat. With a low steady burn and heat concentrated during the low burn near the top center, this may not be the ideal stove for heat robbing. I would contact Blaze King for guidance before altering the stove.
I appreciate your concerns about any modifications to this stove. I'll get to know it well before I try anything. That way I will have a better idea of how the mod has effected it. Anything that I do will be able to be reversed. I can't even imagine any "blessing" from Blaze King however I do this, but contacting them is a good idea.
I'm thinking that a small stainless steel tank or pipe on the back wall above the firebricks would be a good hot location and about as far away from the cat as it can be (inside the stove). Of course I don't want to affect the thermostat either. Thanks
