We're putting a pipe through a roof tomorrow. Guy has a silicone rubber boot, but it ends up its the wrong size. So until Monday, I have nothing else. What would a temporary improvise in the meanwhile? I have some sheet metal handy I think.

Wait until Monday to put hole in roof.

LOL. We cant wait til monday due to logistics and weather.

Flexseal is some spray on waterproofing stuff. It’s infomercial stuff. Gimmicky. And there are other types/brands that work better. I agree with the guy that it’s not a solution, it’s a rig (for a few days) like duct tape on everything but ducts.

He didn't cut the hole in the roof already, did he?

You cut the roof metal to the exact size that allows the chimney to pass through, then caulk the gap. This will hold till you get your flashing. A lot of roofers do this, then we go back and fix it later on.

Workers, telehandler are all in place. Yep, needs to be done tomorrow.
Telehandler?

Gaping hole in your roof. If they don't have the facilities to plug the hole right, in January, send them packing.

Or, let er rip. What's a little water in the house?

So now its changed a little. His Dektite silicone boot covers 7"-13". He has 6" double wall, which should be 8" right? Seems that boot should work then, no?
Sounds like it. It’s still junk being installed in a nearly inaccessible area it sounds like. Run what ya brung I suppose...

Yes, should fit.
