Got a photo of the new T-stat label? Was sort of counting on having the numbers so that I could record / reference what setting gives me the desired burn times I'm targeting. Yes, I know the two stoves will be different, on different chimneys. Yes, I know it will vary with weather. Still useful to have numbers.

I agree, I would like to have it for my personal reference or when I'm not near the stove I can instruct my daughter or my wife to set to the right setting when house too hot or too cold.

I agree, the numbers make it easy to explain to other people in the household how to run the stove. It doesn't get much easier than saying put in on 1 1/2.

Haha a fellow Canuck, eh! I hope this blazeking won't melt me igloo, what with the price of ice up here. How do you like that rancher? I wish mine had a little more power, gonna have to supe it up. Appreciate the welcome! Was just downstairs trying to blow through the air inlets of my napoleon, now I'm covered in ash. You may see the cloud from where you are.

Same as you but its done me well for the 4 years Ive had it, Ill likely keep it for the long haul. Enjoy the new stove! Its just cold enough in the Rockies for an over night burn so I stuffed the stove full of Larch. House will be a bit warm tonight!

I don't get new stove till next week. It's killing me to put piece after piece into this napoleon when I know it would last 4 times as long in the new stove. So I'm freezing out of cheapness.

At least when it comes you will have the low and long burn that blaze king is famous for. A nice steady even heat will be great for shoulder season burning.

webby3650, yeah my T-stat look like your. I never able or at least tried to go lower than 1/2 of the mark. at 1/2 the cat is very close to INACTIVE even stove top is steady at 400° F.

No it doesn't. It's bright chrome and easy to see. It's just different, that's all.

Yup. Much easier than saying "break out the tape measure and put it on 1/4" wide part of the crescent...."

I agree. I was hoping to use the numbers to create a, "use this setting for this outside temperature," reference. Since my wood is not highly variable (pretty much 100% oak and ash), I am hoping to find the ideal settings for 12 and 24 hour burns, on my two stoves. Those numbers would have been very useful for that.

I don't remember the last time I made the effort to actually bend my neck around so I could see those numbers.

You're also a 4 year vet, when you started out you know they were helpful for easy repeatable settings. I think it's nice to be able to tell my 5 year old "hey while you're over there put the white line on the dial to the number 2".

I'm thinking the "n" on normal would be a pretty good setting for you.

Not really, you inform that user to stop reading the internet forums and find the setting that works best for their stove. Now users are just going to compare I have it at 3 o'clock or 6 o'clock just like we do with the cat probe that has no numbers.

Doesn't really matter though mine has numbers and letters. I found them very helpful when I started burning this stove 4 seasons ago. It was very easy for me to explain to my wife how to operate the stove using the numbers or letters as a guide.

It really isn't in a convenient place. At least in a corner install with tool and wood racks on that side, since that's the side the door opens from. I've pretty much always been a somewhere between 1/3 and 2/3 guy.
