Just want to say that I’ve had this ultra for 6 years now and I live in cold/snowy upstate NY. This stove has been rock solid and has kept us warm every winter. Runs different than a traditional wood stove but once you get the hang of it, it runs great.

I wanted to start a thread discussing how people like their blaze kings and what they are critical of and how they are using them.

I love mine, this is my 17th winter using it almost exclusively for heat, and I have no criticisms.

This is my 13th season if I did the math right. 9 months of burning per year.

It’s not a pretty stove but the utility/performance is unmatched.

I wanted to get an Ultra for the performance it offers in a 6'' flue package. What's not to like?
As @Highbeam said, she's not pretty. Would look very odd in my 1830s parlor.

This narrows my choice to an Ashford or PE T6. I've got plenty of time to decide.
You boys want to post some Ultra pics up anyways? Ugly girls need attention too.

Beauty is in the eye of the btu holder 😎 function over form! That being said if aesthetics is priority 1 BK does have some more dainty looking stoves that also get great burn times.

6 th season with a Chinook here.
Different (better 🤣) look but same remarks as above.

We recently moved into our new house with a PE32. The stove design fit the modern design of the house well. But best of all is the performance! It's getting far more heat out of the wood than the Flame Energy (basically an Osburn) non cat zero clearance we had in the old house, and going far longer on a load. It does have a larger fire box but I think a lot of it is down to the stove design. The home designer was worried a stove would put out too much heat in a tight new construction house but this stove can be turned down low. The turned down output numbers on BK's web site were useful in helping me decide.

The one drawback is that there's less heat thrown out and down from the stove front than the old stove did. The cats and my wife liked that feature.
