Blower question

I run my blower on low. I know I'll be needing more out of my insert soon. Would appreciate some thoughts on the pro/con of running on high.

Running it on high is noisier and cools the stove body down more. I have never run ours on high. No need.

I agree with all begreen sez, but we do run ours on high most of the time to move as much air as we can.

I run mine on low until it gets brutally cold outside (single digits or lower) but also run the stove hotter too attempting to compensate for the stove being cooled by the fan like BeGreen says. It definitely helps circulate more heat around the house with the fan on high as long as you have the stove temps up

like begreen said nice and slow see that's the way to do it nice and slow.find the sweet spot that will push enough air without skimming the heat of stove.I find fast is good when house has gone down in temp then slow it down.

Thanks for the replies. Based on this I plan to play with some 15-20 min stints on high when It is at peak heat.

Mine is on high when its below 35F outside above that on low. High is loud but it also moves more air and heats my house better.

Hi 90% of the time here. Ive been experimenting on low and medium, but high delivers the heated air further and seems to get the heated air into convection loop around the house better, making for more even temps around the house.

You can't just apply this universally. Stoves are different, houses are different. My flush insert won't even warm ya sitting 4 feet from it with the blower on low, let alone the house. I have mine on high unless I'm watching a movie. Sure the stove top temp drops a little, but that's the goal if you want to heat the house right? More heat transfered to home, less up the flu. As long as it keeps warm enough to burn properly. This is a big YMMV. Just try it different ways and see. Its not like running your blower up is something bad, or challenging lol, just turn the dial.
