cheking for a draft

how do you check for a draft in your stove?
my logs seem to be buring quicker then last year
I have a vermont casting montpelliar
logs are 3x4x18 and last one hour with air control closed

It's pretty cold here so the increased draft might be causing your wood to burn faster.

Use a lighter around the door and any other place where you think it would be leaking. The flame will be sucked in and obvious at any leak zone.
