My parents have ancient cottonwood trees, some of which are 5 feet in diameter and 100 feet high. Some of the huge limbs have come down, and my husband has worked hard cutting them into manageable sizes. He doesn't have them all cut up, yet, but we don't want to go through the work of stacking them. If you want enough firewood to last you almost an entire season of cold weather, you are welcome to come and get it! $200 will get you all the wood you see on the ground. This is a steal considering the amount you would spend to buy this much firewood, as well as how much it would cost you to heat for an entire season! Most of the wood is super dry, so it will be ready this year.

Call my dad for more information.

Sounds like the deal of the century. Amazed at how dry they are considering that its not even cut up yet.

Is this your post, or did you just stumble across it?

It's almost impossible to sell Cottonwood, even if it was split and stacked.

No way is it worth $200

Thanks Plow Boy, I was up late last night fiddling with it. I just don't like that it doesn't show after my decimal point, I have 3.6 at last measure, not going to measure again until I complete the next row.

And if all you get "is on the ground" there is maybe a full size truck load there!!

I was noticing that too. A pickup truck full of cottonwood will get you through the winter in Michigan.

I guess in michigan a pickup truck load of wood is 6 cords! :)

And not face cords either. Speaking of, I'm headed out to the sawbuck to cut down some poles. Too bad Henry was manufactured in K.C. And not Detroit.

If that's worth 200.00 The I am a very rich man! Woot Wooot!

I'd clean up their brush....I mean firewood...if they paid me $200. It looks nice and dry...must be if it still has the leaves on it.

Only $100 to to heat your Michigan home for the entire winter? How is this not already gone?

Not a chance. These type of folks never learn.

It's funny , I have had 3 good scrounges since spring where, the people said they tried to sell the wood last year ,now they just want it gone

I hope they do realize that people charge to remove trees! If they get lucky someone like us comes along and will do it for free.!!!

I charged the guy to cut up n haul away a big Oak tree last year. Charged $75 to put the brush in his Brush pile. I needed a skid loader to handle the logs and that paid for half of it, and made it easy to move the brush.

For $ 100.00 dollars I'll buy baled cardboard boxes, & get more BTUs. If u wish, I'll take the trees out, but that's gonna cost you. I've had a few offers like that from people, I give them my number & politely explain that it's yard waste till it's c/s/s. Like others have said, they often call back in year or two when they're sick of the mess. A C
