This is a 15-20 year old wood stove that heats our house every year. Somehow we managed to crack both of the glasses. We have replaced glass in the past but would like to have it done professionally this time and remove the doors. The manual simply says "Remove the doors" to replace the glass but offer no instruction on removing the doors.

The doors are pinned on top and bottom and the pins do not seem to move - after 15-20 years no surprise. I ASSUME it is the lower pin that has to come out, but prying against cast iron is never a good idea and there is no hole underneath.

Any suggestions on how to get these doors off? BTW, lifting the doors (they do move ~1/4" up) does not get them free.

Any and all thoughts appreciated.

Odd, I wonder why this F12 is different. Is there a nut on the underside of the lower pin (underneath the stove)? Have you tried putting a flathead screwdriver tip under the lip of the lower pin and gently tapping it upward with a hammer?

What is the tab on the top pin. Could that be a keeper? Or is it part of the pin or door?
