I use one of my hatchet heads and just press it down into the center of the super cedar to make the pie slices. It comes about 3/8 in short of the edges, so it makes a good cut for a clean break, but the cedar (and wrapper) will still stay together.

You must really be looking for a reason to fire up the band saw! They are surprisingly soft.

I had my first fire tonight. My 100 count box is still over half full.

Good lord, when we say to use 1/4 of a super cedar at a time in the stove, we mean 1/4 of a cookie, not 1/4 of the box! :p

Talk about overfire!!! :) No... given lots away to friends and family.

Same here, I'm down to 9 cookies. Of the box I bought, I think I gave about 1/3 of them away.

You are welcome Corey.

I never noticed any scoring. They break apart perfectly for me. My way of starting any fire is a 1/4 lit for a few minutes, then 3 small 2X4s pyramid style around it, then a couple small splits, and a few larger logs on top with air control and side door open for a few minutes, then close the side door with the air control open wide for about 15 minutes, then a few larger logs on top, then close the air control. Within a half hour, a roaring fire.

I used to cut my Super Cedars with a chop saw . . . until Backwoods shamed me into working out to build up enough muscles to crack them into fourths by hand . . . well that and the edge of my woodbox. ;)
