Hey, Cool site, found alot of info trolling around here. But I really didnt find info on what Im wanting to do... And there is hardly anyone in this area that deals with this stuff.
Anyways, I have an old Preway Zero Clearance fire place. I started ripping it out yesterday (its beat). I want to take it out and frame the inside where it was and sit a free standing wood stove in the hole half way or so in. Nothing thats a tight fit. What should I use to frame the inside of where the fire place was? Sheet rock, hardy board? Something heat resitant? Also I want to use the exsisting chiminey as a "hole" to run the stove pipe through. I believe I need to run a insulated style pipe.
Any suggestions or help is very appriciated!
Thanks, Alan
